City of Refuge Church
Introduction to the City of Refuge

Duing the early part of 1999, God planted a dream for a new congregation to serve the Houston community, City of Refuge Interdenominational Chruch. In Janurary of 2000, the visionaries, Brian & Eva Galloway, started tithing into the ministry as a demonstration of their faith in what God had spoken.

In March of 2000, the visionaries met with church consulting firm James Chestnut & Associates to direct and guide them in the incorporation of the church. Within that same month, the visionaries met with five (5) other individuals who had been chosen by God to assist them with carrying out the initial task at hand. With the addition of these five individuals, they now had a team of seven Holy Ghost filled believers that became the Board of Directors for the City of Refuge Interdenominational Chruch and its first members. On April 3, 2000, the church was incorporated by the State of Texas.

On June 20, 2000, City of Refuge started by meeting in the home of Brian & Eva Galloway. Each week the seven board members would invite friends and family to attend and soon the number began to grow. Shortly after beginning the bible study, the young home-based church became 100% in tithing.

With continued growth, a building was leased in a retail center office complex at 5900 North Freeway. City of Refuge's first service in their first church facility was held on Auust 20, 2000. In January of 2003, God blessed the church to relocate to 6692 Antoine Drive to a larger facility where we remained until May 2017. To date, while in the midst of a major capital campaign, the church is currently located at 15403 E Vantage Pkwy, Suite 315 - Houston, TX 77032. The Best Is Yet To Come!!

Yes, God deserves all the glory! He has opened doors and provided resources as needs have arisen. Time and again God has shown the City of Refuge family that miracles do happen when people pray and trust in God to provide for all their needs.

There is still much more to be done and more to learn. We are convinced however, that God wants to take us further than we have ever gone on our journey before, often stretching our faith beyond our comfort zone. He wants us to see the world through His eyes and seek Him in everything we do.
